Free Shuttle Service Launching August 2018
ParkConnect, a free shuttle service connecting the University of Virginia Research Park, University of Virginia students and faculty, and employees working at Rivanna Station, launches in late August!
“We are really excited about the launch of Park Connect. We are offering this service to address a real need to connect 1) UVA students without cars to internships and jobs with our corporate tenants; 2) UVA faculty and staff who have business both in the Park and on Grounds; and 3) federal contractors/Park tenants with employees working at Rivanna Station,” said Deborah van Eersel, UVA Foundation Chief Administrative Officer. “We are also exceptionally pleased to be working with JAUNT and supported by the University Transit System to provide this service.”
Two Park Connect shuttle buses will run every 30 minutes providing complimentary rides between the UVA Research Park, UVA Grounds and Rivanna Station. JAUNT will provide two 21-seat buses that will be WiFi-enabled, have USB chargers and an on-board digital display for promotional and informational communications to bus riders. There are several ways riders may access real-time bus information while on the go:
- Apps for Apple and Android devices
- On the web at transloc.com
- SMS Text Messaging for announcements that may impact ride.
“JAUNT is excited to work with the UVA Research Park on this new approach to regional transit service that blends the energetic identity and vision of the Research Park with JAUNT’s customer focused transit operations experience,” said Brad Sheffield, CEO, JAUNT.
Join us for the Park Connect Launch Party on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Park’s Town Center from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Guests may tour one of the shuttles, and enjoy music, games, and giveaways!
