The University of Virginia Foundation is pleased to welcome the Central Virginia Partnership for Economic Development (Partnership) to the UVA Research Park. The Central Virginia Partnership for Economic Development is a public / private partnership that was formed in 1995 to help create new jobs and investment in Central Virginia.  The Partnership has recently integrated staff and resources with the Central Virginia Small Business Development Center and the Piedmont Workforce Network to expand its services for existing businesses, entrepreneurs, job seekers and employers.

Members of the UVA Research Park community actively work in tandem with the University of Virginia, local economic development partnerships such as Central Virginia Partnership for Economic Development, and the region’s top employers to foster job creation, attract a talented workforce and support the creation of new companies.

“We are delighted that Central Virginia Partnership for Economic Development has joined the ranks of our corporate and university tenants in the UVA Research Park. In close collaboration with UVA, we have worked with them for many years, supporting their efforts to retain and recruit companies to the region that provide employment opportunities for UVA students, faculty and for the community as a whole. Having Central Virginia Partnership for Economic Development in the Park helps to strengthen our partnership and create new opportunities,” said Deborah van Eersel, UVA Foundation Chief Administrative Officer.

We are thrilled to partner with UVA, a world-class institution, to leverage our regional economic development efforts. The location of the UVA Research Park allows for our organization to be more accessible to all nine localities of which we serve.

Central Virginia Partnership for Economic Development is located in the Town Center Two building at 1001 Research Park Blvd, Suite 301. The Partnership’s relocation to the UVA Research Park specifically supports their five core services: Research and Analytics, Site Selection Assistance, Entrepreneurial Support, Existing Business Service and Workforce Development Solutions.

Three additional organizations that fall under the Central Virginia Partnership for Economic Development’s umbrella will also be located at the UVA Research Park. These organizations are: Piedmont Workforce Network, Central Virginia Small Business Development Center and GO Virginia Region 9. The Partnership’s territory includes the City of Charlottesville, Albemarle, Culpeper, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Nelson and Orange Counties and serve as regional liaison for the Virginia Economic Development Partnership and Virginia Department of Business Assistance for this region.

“We are thrilled to partner with UVA, a world-class institution, to leverage our regional economic development efforts. The location of the UVA Research Park allows for our organization to be more accessible to all nine localities of which we serve.” says Helen Cauthen, President of Central Virginia Partnership for Economic Development.
