Groundbreaking for Hollymead Fire Station
January 25, 2007 — Ken Boyd, Chairman of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, officiated at a groundbreaking ceremony for a new public safety facility, the Hollymead Fire Rescue Station. The station will be located on Lewis & Clark Drive within the University of Virginia Research Park and accessible from Airport Road. The facility will be staffed by career and volunteer emergency rescue personnel and is planned to become operational in late 2007.
Battelle Moves into Town Center Two
February 19, 2007 — After months of careful planning and preparation, Battelle officially moved into its new fourth floor offices at the Town Center Two Building in the University of Virginia Research Park. Battelle works closely with the National Ground Intelligence Center on defense and homeland security initiatives. In keeping with the mission of the Park, Battelle has actively collaborated with University of Virginia faculty during its seven year tenure in the Park.
